Working To End Hunger

A Nonprofit Organization Serving New York City

Dedicated to Feeding Our Brothers and Sisters in Need

AGATHA HOUSE FOUNDATION is a registered nonprofit organization in the Bronx, New York. Ever since we opened our doors in January 2014, we have been dedicating ourselves to feeding low-income individuals. Our goal is to provide for the basic needs of thousands of people in our communities.

Why We Started

Our founder’s mother willingly gave food to the hungry while she was still alive. She is the reason we started this foundation. To honor her legacy, we continue to provide this much-needed support during this pandemic.

What We Do

We initiate hunger relief operations for our communities with the help of our tireless volunteers. We also provide drop-off services for senior citizens who can’t leave their homes. Aside from this, we organize community building activities that include:

  • Fundraisers
  • Community Building Events
  • After-School Programs
  • Free Online Classes
  • In-Depth Training Sessions for Volunteers

Purpose

Our primary focus is to combat hunger within communities in the United States, especially in the Metropolitan area. We aim to provide better nutrition for children and families, educate families on the value of the food they consume to reduce the risk of childhood obesity, diabetes, and other childhood-related illnesses.

Our mission is to provide hope and resources for those without life’s essentials. To provide help, funding, and programs to help end childhood hunger and feed the children and families of displaced families due to poverty or disaster.

To connect with donors, experts, leaders, politicians, and community leaders to help end childhood diseases. Also, to provide a food bank where underserved children and their families can receive nutritious meals.

AGATHA HOUSE FOUNDATION serves over 7,000 people per month at our pantry. Families attend weekly pantry to supplement their meals with fresh food and to utilize the other services we provide that include tax assistance, health checks, and childbirth education, to name a few.

From the People We Helped

“I have two teenage daughters, and getting pantry delivered to my home has been a lifesaver. My car broke down and is no longer working as of a few months ago, and I don’t know how I would be able to get this food if it wasn’t for the AGATHA HOUSE FOUNDATION. I am so thankful for all that they have provided my daughters and me with. From fresh fruits and vegetables to canned goods. Even feminine hygiene products! They are truly a blessing in these crazy times.”

“I have older family members that are unable to travel, especially during this pandemic. I feel so fortunate to be able to go to AGATHA HOUSE FOUNDATION and pick up essential items and healthy foods that I can deliver to them. This place has become a staple in the community in providing for families in need. I am currently not working and would not be able to provide for my 90-year-old and 74-year-old cousins if it weren’t for this pantry. So many people depend on it. I’m so glad it’s here.”

“I have been working odd jobs to support myself, and I am not eligible for food stamps. Paying my rent is my priority, and I use the rest of my money for the things I need and to get to and from work. Although food is one of life‘s essentials and I have to eat. Sometimes I don’t eat as healthy as I should because I can’t afford it. This pantry has such good things! The variety of fruits and vegetables and protein is great.”

"I live with my 20-year-old son, who is in college, earning a degree in accounting, and not working due to COVID. He is not able to assist financially at this time, so it has been a real struggle. As he was walking home from the train station, he saw a long line and asked about it. One of the people told him it was a food pantry that had amazing choices. He got online immediately, knowing we had no food in our refrigerator. He came home with a box full of fruits, vegetables, rice, juice, toothbrushes, scarves, and socks. I cannot thank you enough Agatha House. Your organization is a gift from God to this community."
